MuseScore 4.1.1: Notes continuously ring out when I input them quickly.

I've been experiencing an issue in MuseScore 4 where if I stop the playback mid-note, the software registers it as if the note is still playing, and just has it drone on and on. The same happens when I input notes (via keystrokes) quickly enough that the sound is meant to be cut off by the next note. The only way to stop the notes from continuously playing is to play them again and let them finish on their own. It grinds my workflow to a screeching halt.
Does anyone else have this issue? Has anyone found a way to fix it?
