Adding ornaments

The ornament in measure two of my score is supposed to be an E-flat leading to the main note of D but when I add the ornament it just plays the D twice. How do I fix this

In the image the appoggiatura is an E flat. In your score you notated it as a D and as an acciaccatura.
The appoggiatura is the grace note without slash through the stem.
