Changing the playback instrument for part of the score
Hello,
I am using Musescore to help choristers to learn their parts.
The playback instrument is the piano.
I have a score where part of the song is spoken, not sung.
I would like to be able to have a drum beat at that point instead of the piano.
Is this possible ?

I suggest you set up your score with piano and drum and any vocal parts and use which ever you want when you need them. You can hide empty staves if that would be useful.

Alternatively you could use a mid staff instrument change. But that is generally more appropriate when a single player has to swap between instruments. Look at https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/mid-score-instrument-changes to see if that would work better for you.

I used the second method as the singers are, in effect, "changing their instrument" from the singing voice to a rhythmic chant, then, later, back to singing again.
