Notation - double stop for divided strings

• Oct 13, 2023 - 20:55

When all players in a string section are playing the same part, there is no special notation for double stops. But when the section is divided, and one subsection of players are playing double stops, this is noted with a vertical bar next to the double-stop notes, with short horizontal lines pointing at the notes. This is shown in the first measure of the pdf file, where one subsection of celli are playing e and the other subsection is playing double stops D-F#.

I would like to see this notation developed in MuseScore.

Until then, you can use the "bracket arpeggio" to simulate this. You can put it where you want, and adjust it as needed. It has no effect on playback.
