Adding notes to a note with an articulation marking

When additional notes are added to a note that has an articulation marking—i.e., creating a chord or a double-stop—the articulation disappears. (Sometimes I've found that it even moves to the following note, which is very strange.) Ideally, the articulation marking would stay where it is even if more notes are added.
