Would It Make Sense to Write Scales for Harpists to Play?

• Dec 31, 2023 - 00:18

In one arrangement and orchestration I made a few months ago, I have 2 harps (one is arpeggiating the chords that are being played, and at one point during the piece, the other switches from quickly playing an Eb major scale run—I’m talking 7 notes in one beat at 130bpm—and then immediately after that, switching to a different set of arpeggios). Would it be reasonable for me to just write out a scale run (pictured below) like you would for woodwinds or strings, or just notate the notes of the scale in the middle of the harp staff at the beginning of the piece, and then just write a glass when the scale comes? And can harp players even play scale runs that fast? (I’m a complete noob to harps)
