Tags not appearing on page

I am using the following:

OS: macOS 14.2, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.2.1-240230937, revision: d757433

I am trying to have either the workTitle or movementTitle tag appear at the top of the page of scores and parts. When I use $:tag:workTitle or $:tag:movementTitle, the property that I have placed into the 'Project properties' window does not appear. What am I doing wrong?

Where you see $:tag: you need to replace the letters tag with the meta tag name. So, to get the work title in the header or footer you need to enter $:workTitle: in the header or footer and note a) there are colons (:) before and after the meta tag name and also note that the meta tag names are case sensitive..

Got it. There are conflicting instructions/images in the forum that are also showing the :tag: portion in the command. Where can I make a suggestion that
1. there should be an example of how to use the meta tags in the pop-up
2. the pop-up does not appear consistently or for a long enough period; while it's an additional click, being able to manually close the window and make the choice for the window to not appear could be useful

There is a similar discussion here #341358: Metadata-tags not completely explained in tooltip but that issue tracker is no longer in use. The discussion was referenced in a Github issue here https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/16065 which seems to have implemented something in version 4.0.2 but it is not clear to me what exactly was implemented then.

Whatever, the metatag pop up is still embarrassingly poor. You could add a new issue on Github with your suggestions how it and the whole metatag thing could be improved.
