hide staves
In a certain passage, I have two versions. How do I hide one of them? I shouldn't be heard or seen, but I should be able to retrieve it.

{EDIT]
For an alternative passage, you must have an extra stave.
So if you want to hide the alternative stave completely, then View > Instruments (shortcut F7) offers you an "eye" symbol to make the instrument invisible. Below the Violoncello stave has been hidden:

Thank you, Daniel for coming back to me.
I previously looked at what you sent me, and it does not provide what I am looking for. My issue is not about empty staff or hiding empty measures. it is about hiding unempty measures.
Let me give you an example:
I am indecisive regarding the bars 73 to 77. I want to write a new version but keep the old hidden so that I can retrieve it later, should I need it.
Under “view” I can select “Show invisible”. But ow do I create invisible? It should be possible to highlight a certain sequence (i.e. bar 73 to 77) and then somewhere select “Make invisible”.
Do you have any idea how I can do this?
Thank you for your support.

Daniel's EDIT does that, but only for an entire staff, full length of the score. Add an additional stave, put your alternate version in that stave, and hide the entire stave.
