Free MuseScore for the non-musician?
I don't play. I don't write music. Don't have the skills or the patience for it. So you might ask yourself "What is he doing here?" I like ragtime and related music, and like to keep up with what people are doing with this music, today. And a lot of the new composers who are writing ragtime today are writing and posting it on MuseScore.
Currently I have a bunch of MuseScore tabs opened up in my browser, to try and keep track of what various composers I've met online are doing, but that takes up a lot of system resources, and makes scrolling through my numerous browser tabs a bit of a mess.
What I am trying to figure out (and created an account just to be able to ask) is, is there any way I can 'follow' (for lack of a better term) the members who I've met or befriended elsewhere with a free account, so I can know when they've released something new, and can give them a comment or a rating on their new works on MuseScore, rather than just listening, but not being able to let them know I've listened at all, which is what I've had to do so far, with no account at all, up to this point?
At this point, can't afford a paid account (barely making rent, and just keeping internet access with the end of the affordability gov't subsidy is gonna be slightly tough), and I don't know how much can be done with a free account, as to staying up-to-date on what others are doing.

In reply to bunch of MuseScore tabs… by Jojo-Schmitz
Of course I am ... sorry. Two sites for the same name, even using the same log-in system can be confusing. My apologies.
You can do quite a lot with a free account: following other users for notifications (there's a button on the user profile page), grouping scores into sets, private messaging other users, downloading non-copyrighted scores, favouriting scores, commenting on scores, sharing scores privately, joining .com interest groups and a few other things.
You can't download most copyrighted scores but you can play them back and add them to favourites or sets. Your dashboard will show recent info relevant to groups, people and discussions that you are involved in.
So, no need to rely on browser tabs or bookmarks for scores of interest.
(The two sites for the same name has been a source of much confusion for many years so no need to apologise. In any case you will probably get better feedback on this site even when asking about .com issues.)
