Disconnect notes

I'm not sure how to explain this, so I attached a picture. In summary, I don't want the top notes and the bottm notes connected. The bottom notes are played with the left hand, and the top notes are played with the right hand.

So, how do I disconnect them (meaning, remove the line connecting the notes)?

I am new to this program so please forgive the newbie question.
