How to make dotted quarter rests occur in compound meter (6/8, 9/8, etc.)
The current default is that rests in compound meters are showing a quarter rest followed by an eighth rest. I would like for the measure to automatically show a dotted quarter instead of two rests. Also, I do not want a full measure of rest to be two dotted quarter rests, I would like to keep those measures as full/whole rests. I do not see a way to adjust the rest properties within the time signature properties. Is there a way to do this?

This has been a long-standing and recurring request, for example, among many others (#329300: Whole beat rests in compound time should be dotted but instead show 2 rests), but has not yet been met.
Meanwhile: it may not cover all cases (or your preferences), but using the "Regroup rhythms" feature (Tools menu), once you've completed your input, can be useful. This saves you having to manually rectify several measures (if any).
