irregular beaimng

Hello,
I'm trying to write a piece in 12/8, but with quaver (eighth-note) groups of 5 plus 7. I SHOULD be able to change the beaming via properties of that time signature, and have tried following the instructions in the handbook, but on doing so the panel to change such things doesn't exist, or at least I can't find it. Can anyone help, please?
