automatic capitalization of chords
dear all,
i wish to write the chords lower case without "m" like the b in the exemple, but MS seems to add the m automatically...
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/chord-symbols#automatic-capitalizat…
i cannot figure out how this works (please see the settings)

thank you but no.
I want e a e G b
Like the first example in the link above:
"Lower case minor chords: c, cm, cm7,..."

I've removed the 2 "b" chords on notes B 8th (measure 4), and D half note (measure 8). I've underlined them in red on the attached file: B rocky_Road_to_Dublin.mscz
If you type a "b" chord on these 2 notes again, what do you get?

it changes to bm automaticaly

Exactly!
So in the attached file previously, how did you manage to get just a "b"? ?

i do not remember. But i wish to know so i can write the chords like in the 1st example.
Used to apply staff text for it, but aparently it is now possible in chord...

What example? There is 2 screenshots (the first shows the dialog, the second shows "chords" "em", "G" and "b")
Whatever, this "b" is incorrect. It's a major chord, not a minor one.
I note here too that this is an "old" score from 2015. Something went wrong I guess in "transport" between the different versions.
To summarize, as far I know, in this use case, minor chords have an "m", and major chords are capitalized, i.e. bm or B, but not "b" only (or "a" or "e" etc.) as minor chord.
Of course, you can apply staff text (but you lose the ability to hear the chords)

Dear Cádiz,
thank you! I mean the first example in this link:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/chord-symbols#automatic-capitalizat…
"Lower case minor chords: c, cm, cm7,..."
So like "c" i wish to write e a and b chords.
This "b" is fine. I will stick to staff text; the chords do not play back correctly anyway (sounds a major chord, not minor)
Best

Ok, understood.
What you meant here was: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/chord-symbols#automatic-capitalizat…
I'd left it there! https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/chord-symbols#chord-symbol-syntax
I'd forgotten it, or missed it, but it's a bit confusing (as is often the case with chords...)
Anyway, the problem, as I said before, was the age of this file. After resetting the file (by exporting it in MusicXML format), you'll see that you can now enter the minor chords as desired.
I've started to do this, see: A rocky_Road_to_Dublin.mscz

thank you for that! I will use this as a new template.
Only i have not yet figured out how to change the footers font.
