What is the use case for this? I've never come across a score that uses it.

I think you are asking for a method to add a specified degree of interval - i.e. diminished/perfect/augmented or major/minor. Whenever I use the existing Tools>Add interval facility I want the notes to be added diatonically. Adding non-diatonic intervals seems a rather rare thing to want to do. Can you explain the use case for this?

Copy/paste seems to cater for the latter.
I don't think there is a cannon in the instrument list yet.

If he's talking about "cannons" (literal infantry guns as a musical instrument), I know that orchestras who do not have access to them simply use massed bass drums when they play the 1812 Overture. I've been told there are other scores that use cannons in a similar way, but I've never seen or heard them.
