Possibly Corrupt file -- general instability
0.9.5 seems to be quite unstable under WinXP -- frequently crashing when editing existing scores.
Attached is a score containing one bar -- I am unable to edit that bar (try adding a Voice1 note or deleting the entire contents of the bar).
BTW, what's with the paired filenames? FILENAME.mscx and (DOT)FILENAME.mscx is the dot file a back-up?

I'm not sure why your file hangs in 0.9.5. It works just fine in the latest prerelease .

And to answer your last question, YES, .filename.mscx, is a backup. It's the last saved copy of your file.

David, I think I'll stick with 0.9.5 for the moment -- I wouldn't want to trust too much to a pre-release.
