instrument visability
Could you please let me know how to publish scores on your platform and how to make an instrument (for example, bass) invisible in the score display, but still have it play back during audio playback?

You cannot publish scores on this platform. This is musescore.org and the score sharing website you want is musescore.com.
Two ways to make an instrument invisibld in the score but still have it display.
1) Go to the Layout panel (upper left) and find the instrument in question. Click the small triangle immediately to the left of the instrument name to expand the sub-items (staves). Notice that each stave has a 'open eye' icon to the left, as does the instrument. On the staff--not the instrument--click it to 'close the eye'. The instrument will not display in the score, but will play when you click the button.
2) Again, go to the Layout panel and find the instrument in question. Click the button and 'close the eye' on the instrument. Then, open the Mixer and un-click the M (Mute) button on the instrument.
Personally, I think the first is easier, but some claim that the second is the One True Way :-) (Teasing, Jojo :-)
