Uninstalling Muse does not remove MuseAuthService
Windows 10. Uninstalled Muse. MuseAuthService still running. Stopped service. Installed MuseScore Studio 4.5.2 64-bit (With MuseHub), then uninstalled. MuseAuthService still there, even after reboot.

The service has to do with the Hub. If you're going to experiment, Delete the Hub and the 2 services that go with it. In fact, run a search of your drive for anything about the Hub, and delete them. Then see if they come back after a restart.
Also, when you re-install the Hub, go to settings and turn everything off. You don't need any of it. I only open the HUB now and then to check for updates. then close it back down.

I have no problem removing MuseAuthService manually: just delete C:\Program Files\MuseAuthService.
I am reporting what I believe to be a bug in the MuseHub uninstaller - Seems it fails to fully clean up after itself.

As far as I know, almost no uninstaller removes everything. For example, Uninstall MuseScore. Then run a search for MuseScore4.
A 3rdparty uninstaller might work better.

Sure, it's one thing to leave files lying around, but a running process seems particularly undesirable.
EDIT: after further testing, not running after reboot

I agree. Is it still there after completely uninstalling the HUB? And that exe?

OK, I went through the whole install-uninstall cycle again. Yes, MuseAuthService is still there, and still running after MuseHub is uninstalled. After rebooting, MuseAuthService still appears in Services, and the folder and exe file are still present, but it is not actually running. So I guess it can just be considered harmless clutter ...

Well, I don't like to go directly to github without first airing it in the Forum in case there's something I overlooked.

You are exactly right. I just added the comment in case you didn't already know.

Except that this is something from Muse Hub, and should be reported there:
https://musehub.zendesk.com/
This is not something for MuseScore developers.

It's funny that they tell you to report the issue directly from within MuseHub itself. Since I'm not going to install MuseHub again just to send feeback, I created a support request. Thanks.
