Musescore not detecting midi keyboard on chromeOS

Got an Akai MPK Mini to use with my chromebook. Works with other software, but musescore is not detecting it as a midi input device. Followed instructions from the musescore tutorial pages, but the device is not listed as an option in the preferences menu. Any ideas?
