Note Input Beginner
Hi all -
I recently made the move to MuseScore 4. I am attempting to input MIDI and have it transcribed in real-time to the score.
At the moment, it seems to require me to input the durations separately. I am curious if there is a way to record both the pitch and duration from an incoming MIDI stream.
Thanks!

Hi Daniel -
Thanks for chiming in.
For some reason, my Pencil tool (for Note Input) does not seem to have a pull-down menu.
I can, however, access Note Input in the Muse Score preferences and I can access the additional options with the "cog wheel" options on the main toolbar.
However, using the Real-Time Metronome feature constrains incoming playing to whatever duration note is set in the program, rather than the duration that the note is actually played. The Real-Time Foot Pedal feature still seems to require manually selecting note duration for each note as well.
Is what I'm trying to do possible? Or am I imagining something that isn't there?
Thanks!
Hi all -
I'm still trying to figure this out. It seems to behave somewhat erratically.
My understanding is that "Real-time metronome" should write incoming notes, in relation to the metronome pulse - but the bar seems to endless re-write itself instead of advancing.
