Disappearing text (0.9.6 regression)

Steps to reproduce bug
1. Create an empty score (no title or other text)
2. Add text to score (such as staff text, title, marker, etc) and type a few characters
3. Click outside the text area to leave text edit mode

Expected behavior: Text should appear in place

Actual behavior: Text seems to disappear from the screen
