Try downloading again and to provide more details
What goes wrong when you try? Perhaps you just don't know you need to go to File / Export, instead of File / Save As where it was in 1.3?

Iv'e been doing File/Export, but it always ends up as a musescore file. I'm running Windows Vista.

Which language? We had a translation defect in that area, have you updated the translations?

English, and my computer isn't able to install the update. I've been having this problem since I installed the beta ver.2.

Are you sure you lookng in the correct folder? It is possible it is defaulting to saving in a different folder than you are expecting. If that isn't it, can you post a screenshot of the export dialog just before you save, and of Explorer focused on that same folder?
I figured out the reason why it wouldn't export properly. First I realized that I didn't have ver 2.0 beta 2, so sorry about any confusion. I found that once you go to file/export, you have to change the name along with the file type. It seems like this shouldn't have to happen when exporting; it's a little strange. sorry for all the confusion and thanks to everyone who helped.

In the current builds, the filename should update automatically when you change the type. So what you describe should not happen any more. Feel free to download a current nightly build to verify.
