Project

Ubuntu 14.04, GIT commit: 4fe7cb1

1) add text frame to a score
2) add text
3) right click text
4) text properties
5) set horizontal alignment to center

Result: text is centered to the left edge of the frame, not actually centered within the frame. Similar for right alignment.

Works fine in vertical frames.

It doesn't work for me. I have the following set-up, as copied from Help, About.
OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.2.3.7635, revision: d2d863f

I started working with a score I made in a version of MuseScore 2. I even deleted the title text and added a new vertical frame. The results are still (1) un-centered and un-centerable text within the frame; (2) pressing End to put the insertion point at the right of the text results in it positioning itself way to the right of the text I entered; and (3) when I delete spaces from the extreme right side toward the left side, text to the left is deleted.

Most likely what you are seeing is different from what is reported here, as that bug was fixed years ago. Best to ask for help on the Support forum and attach the specific score you are having problems with, so we can understand and assist better.

OK. I've attached a score. Open it in MuseScore 3, Observe the following: (1) the title and subtitle are off center within the frame; (2) with the Title frame selected, place the insertion point on the extreme right-hand side within the frame; (3) use the Backspace key and watch how the last letters of the word to the left are deleted for every keystroke, even though the insertion point is nowhere near the last word. MuseScore 2 does not behave that way.

The title and subtitle look centered to me in 3.2.3 (Windows). I'm not understanding what you mean about deleting; there is no way to place the cursor further to the right than the last letters of the title.

Again, if you are having some sort of problem, please ask for help on the Support forum. This particular issue was closed years ago, only a couple of people will see posts made here, whereas lots of people will be available to help on the Support forum.
