Apply hairpin/slur to a selection

Hairpin crescendos/decrescendos are entered by selecting a note, and then pressing H or shift-H. Likewise with slurs which are entered by typing an S. These hairpins or slurs start at the selected note and then extend to the next note. It would be useful if multiple notes could be selected before typing H or S. The start of the hairpin/slur would start at the left side of the selection, and the end of the hairpin/slur would end at he right side of the selection. Attached is an example illustration.
