abc import error

• Oct 7, 2015 - 03:01

I looked for an answer to this, but can't find one.

I just upgraded to Musescore 2.0.2. I'm on Mac Os 10.7.5

ABC import is returning this error: File corrupted /var/folders/6m/6d25g9kj7l99dkdvf8491cn00000gr/T/my_file.xml

Under details it's telling me that every single measure is incomplete save the first one. I'm able to import the very same file in the old version of Musescore.

Can you help? I much prefer the newer version!

TY

Andrea

Feel free to attach the ABC file in question. It is possible it really does have the wrong number of beats, in which case older versions would till laod it, but the file would be very corrupt - it just didn't warn you about this, and instead produced all sorts of other bad effects (random crashes, inability to edit measures, etc).

It is also possible the abc2xml program used by the plugin is somehow doing something wrong with this particular file.

This is it:

R: reel
M: 4/4
L: 1/8

I've tested a couple of others which import but without the title. Here's one that imports without the title:

X: 1
T: On The Lam
Z: JoseACerro

R: reel
M: 4/4
L: 1/8

fd ~d2 dcAG|ECDE C2 DE|F2 AF E2 CE|1FDD^C D2 BB:|2FDD^C D2 =CD|]

Could it be that there are extra spaces or invisible characters that are messing it up? I'm brand new to ABC, so a little lost.

Well how 'bout that. Okay! That worked, but the title doesn't doesn't import. It just appears as "reel". I can just manually type in the title and author, but it would be nice if it just happened. :)

Thanks for your help!
