Instrument within Part Changing
So I'm trying to write a piece write now for clarinet where part way through the piece the player changes to a bass clarinet. Is there any to switch the instrument in the part mid piece without changing the entire piece.

A current limitation of the mid-staff instrument change feature (though work is under way to improve this) is that it does not change the transposition. Fortunately, bass clarinet is in the same key as regular Bb clarinet, but it should be in a different octave. If you want the octave transposition to work correctly, your best bet is to add both instruments to your score and use the "Hide empty staves" feature to make only one staff appear.
