Landscape printing

• Oct 18, 2015 - 21:47

Hello,

I've seen this posted for older versions, not sure if for version 2.0.2 revision f51dc11

I can't get it to print to landscape. When I change my page settings to landscape all looks well, when I send it to print it prints portrait so it cuts off the right third. Looks like something gone awry with communication between MuseScore and the printer. I found a work-around when printing to my printer (Go to print > Preferences > Basics and select landscape), but I can't do that with PDFs.

I still have version 1.3 revision 5702 installed, and it prints fine.

Thanks in advance for all the help... this is one of the best communities!!

Can you post the score you are having problems with, and describe precisely what settings you have in MuseScore's print dialog as well as the printer setting? What OS?

It happens with any score. I'm running Windows 7 and the printer is a HP LaserJet 1018 . Like I said, I don't have this issue with the older version of MuseScore...

Here's a simple little "ditty"... ;-)

I started this one with a blank score (to eliminate the possibility that it may be something with one of my templates from the older version), selected my instruments, and put in my music. Then I go to Layout > Page Settings, it is already defaulted to Letter. I select Landscape, and hit Apply. Then if I just go print it prints landscape turned 90 degrees, so portrait with the right ~ 1/3 cut off...

If I go to print, and then preferences and change my printer Orientation setting to Landscape, then it works fine. But I've never had to do that before, and it's a pain if I forget...

I am experiencing this exact same issue - Windows 10 / Musescore 2.0.3 / Brother MFC-J450DW Printer (and CutePDF).

I found a workaround though. Don't use the Print function, even with CutePDF. Export the file as a PDF (File > Export > PDF File (*pdf) instead. Then use the Adobe Acrobat Reader to print the file.
