Hiding Parts
I have a piece with sop, alt, ten, and bas singing parts, and a piano part. For the first system, I don't want the singing parts to show, only the piano. Then, I want all the parts to show in the second system.
I use OS X El Capitan. How can I do this?

It's in Style/General/Score (which is the first page you get)
Hide empty Staves is the 7th line down.
You might also wish to "un-tick" the next line "Don't hide empty staves in first system"

Thank you @ewartnorth and also @grinningcat! It really helped. Can the MuseScorers make it so that searching in the Help menu also brings up results from the General/Text style menus?

The "Hide empty staves" checkbox is in Style > General > Score.
