Using the 'Ins' key for creating a single measure
I am trying to use the shortcut ‘Ins’ when creating a single measure.
But only if I use Shift > Ins, the extra measure appears before the selected one. Is this correct because the handbook says that only hitting the ‘Ins’ key is sufficient.
Or has it something to do with my keyboard settings? I tried to figure this out but without
success.

The Ins method is the old one, to be used with special selection for all staffs in a blue dotted rectangle.
The manual is not uptodate.
The handbook is correct for me. If I select a measure and press Ins it adds a measure in front of the measure I selected. If I select a measure and press Shift+Ins nothing happens. (US English laptop keyboard).
Maybe on your keyboard you have to press Shift in order to get "Ins", no?

David, as I already wrote: I have to hit the Shift key prior to the Insert key. This Insert key
is absent on its usual place (it is replaced by a double sized Delete key) on my keyboard and is situated on the numeric keypad.
But hitting the Shift key first and then the Insert key is of course no problem.
I just was curious if the Handbook was correct.

The problem is that the new bar is prior to the selected bar and you want it after. Use append measure rather than inset measure.

Xavierjazz, If I understand you correctly you think my problem is the placing
of a measure (you wrote ‘bar’)? If so, that is not the problem. The only thing I was
asking is the difference between what was written in the Handbook versus my
experience of inserting a measure using the shortcut ‘Insert’.
