Midi import no longer preserves tempo?

• Nov 3, 2015 - 03:21

Greetings and thanks for providing MuseScore.

I'm currently using version 2.01 on Ubuntu 12.04.

When I import a midi file, it seems the tempo is always set to 120 and the tempo changes are lost.

A couple of years back I was regularly importing the same midi files in an earlier version of Musescore (don't remember the exact version), and the tempo information was perfectly imported. The midi files had relatively small changes in tempo (often just a ritardando at the end so that the ending would sound more natural).

Was the feature dropped? If so, what version of Musescore was the change made?

Thanks and regards,
David C.

Thanks for the quick reply! I had unchecked "Show tempo text" in the midi import option panel, thinking that it would do just that (not delete the tempo info).

One method I found was to select the tempo text and change the text color to white.
Is this the preferred way of not showing the tempo text without deleting it?

Thanks,
David C.
