Just A Thought...

I was just thinking about the astounding quantity of well written music on this website and I was thinking that Musescore should officially sponsor/host competitions, or at least ways of recognizing a lot of the great music on this website.

Perhaps Musescore could publish a few scores each month? It would be a good way for Musescore to make money, a good way for Musescorians to be recognized, and a good way for legitimate/grade school orchestras/bands to be able to obtain sheet music?

Anyway this is just a thought. Let me know what you think.

The score of the day was replaced by the Mastering MuseScore handbook, since we have not the manpower currently to pick these scores of the day :/ Perhaps an open question to the community on how we could organise this to revive this feature because it would be a great thing to have.

Naive ideas: There are several tools for online polls. Perhaps some of the work could be automated by setting a number of basic requirements (eg. Filter by Upload date / View count / Creativity) and preparing some tick box to express personal opinion (Bit/Fairly/Much) on:
graphics quality; quality of listening; orchestration and so on.

Then increase the diplomatic corps to moderate the probables adverse reactions ;-)

How did the old MuseScore Connect work? That featured multiple "scores of the day", didn't it?

I'd love to offer myself as a simple solution to the manpower question—I can certainly find something awesome on musescore.com at least once a week. But the question at hand is about introducing a publishing arm of MuseScore, which is at the least a very interesting idea.

Yeah I don't really know how to go about it but I think a lot of people are really active in the Musescore community and would love to have organized recognition of music written with musescore. Also, thank you so much for developing Musescore!!! I cannot express to you how important a role Musescore has played in my life. Although I am really serious about music and have been encouraged to get finale or sibelius by my teachers, my heart lies with Musescore and the more I use it, the more I realize how brilliantly constructed it was. You have my loyalty!

Thank you so, so much,
Evan Williamson
