Sound doesn't work
Sound has stopped working. I've reset factory settings deleted all the files, and reinstalled but all to no avail.
Mac, Latest version of everything.
When I do the factory reset I see the following error which might help..

Thanks but I tried the re-install and the factory reset. I re-downloaded three times, reinstalled several times. I also checked that the soundfonts directory are installed correctly.

Re-download and re-install in General won't fix anything (it does only in some very limited cases), reset to factory much more often does solve such issues.
What does the Synthesizer windows show, what the Preferences → I/O ?

The synthesizer buttons are greyed. Looking through previous posts this seems to be for one of two reasons: either soundfonts are not installed correctly or that the soundcard is not recognised. I check the sounds/ directory (and reinstalled it) so that doesn't seem likely. Musescore has also being running on my machine for about a month so the soundcard should be OK.... Hmmm

PortAudio: selected (default setting)
API, Device and MIDI Input: all empty with no options to select

What if you download a new SoundFont from https://musescore.org/en/handbook/soundfont-0#list ? Can you set it up as your new default?
EDIT: No, it's not about the SoundFont at all. API should be "Core Audio" and Device should be "Built-in Output." Can you open System Preferences, go the Sound pane, and post your system-wide output settings? It should look something like this:

The SP's are as expected. I tried pluging in a USB headphones and that didn't help either
