Chinese Gong

Maybe adding a Chinese Gong to the percussion format on the next update of Musescore.

What are looing for exactly? You can already add a number of gongs and Chinese cymbals, including the tam tam (the instrument msot often thought of as a gong). These instruments don't all show under "Common instruments" but do if you type into the search box or switch to "All instruments". General MIDI doesn't define a separate sound for "Chinese gong", so no common soundfont is likely to provide a specific sound for it, but if you have a non-GM soundfont you have that provides a specific sound, you are already welcome to use it.

I always use "All Instruments" and this issue of a orchestra gong has been pointed out before. I tried a GM soundfont and it could not put into the Musescore program. When the next Musescore update comes out, a orchestra gong added to the unpitched percussion section might be really useful.

If you are having problems figuring how how to install a soundfont, see the relevant section of the Handbook and ask questions here is that doesn't help. If you have found a soundfont with a gong sound you like, MuseScore should be able to use it.
