Stuck just getting started.....
Is there a tutorial for the beginner in this software?
I have always enjoyed "figuring it out myself" but I just don't see how to place a note onto the sheet music.
Is there a tutorial that shows, for example, how to create a simple scale?

Also, when you first open MuseScore, it should offer you the option to open the "Getting Started" score, a one-page cheat-sheet that tells you much of what you might need to know. It will keep offering you this option each time you start, until you manage to successfully create and save a score.
