In a song that I am working on, in the 2nd verse it is necessary for a rest to become a quarter note, and another note must be lowered.

I found nothing in the Help documentation that will help.

In music notation it is common to use separate voices to represent the alternative rhythms between stanzas. (For details, see voices in the handbook. And consult a published score with alternative rhythms between stanzas.

In the future, the best place to ask for help is the forums . The issue tracker is for documented "bugs" (mistakes) in MuseScore.
