1. enter notes on top staff line in voice 1
2. switch to voice 2 and enter rests
3. mark the rests invisible
Result: the invisible rests still affect stem direction on voice 1. This greatly reduces the effectiveness of an otherwise trick for attaching markings in places where there are no notes

Looks more like a bug.
I tried to be pretty strict about what I considered a bug; this one struck me as borderline. I think in Finale, you get an option to control this, but I can't imagine why you'd want it set the way MuseScore works now.
