Associate .album files with Musescore

Musescore will create files with the extension .album but when I try to associate the file with Musescore under Windows 10 then double click on the .album file, I get an unsupported format error from Musescore.

If I want to read my .album file, I have to load it from the Album submenu found under File -> Album.

It would be nice for subsequent versions of Musescore to adequately handle the .album format.
