How to change more than one rhythm note at a time?

• Jan 29, 2016 - 18:23

Hi, gang!!!

I wonder if I missed something, but...

When I want to change the rhythm value of any note, I just click on it and then I change its value on the Rhythm Notes Menu.

Now, Is there a way to perform this with more than one note at a time?

I tried it select more than one note and, then, click on a new figure on the menu, but... Nothing changes!!!

I uploaded an example.

Let's say: we have a measure with 4 quaver or eighth notes, each one at the place of the equivalent 4 crotchet or quarter notes. Now, let' say we want to convert the quavers into crotchet. I insist, we can do that clicking on each individual quaver. But... Is there a way to convert the 4 notes at a time? ???

Greetings & Blessings from Chile!!!!!!!

No. The only way that could work is to not just change the durations of the note,s but also change their time positions. Each note would have to start after the previous note ended and would hence have to be moved later - perhaps into the next measure, or even many measures later depending on how big of a selection you started with and how big a change you were making. This is a totally different function from simply changing durations. Plus, it would not generally do what you want if the selection consists of mixed durations - quavers and crotchets together. Probably you'd want the existing quavers turned to crotchets, but the existing crotchets turns to minims.

So simply changing duration using the toolbar could never accomplish the goal. Instead, what you want it is a facility to double the lengths of all notes and automatically move them all as necessary so the entire passgae is twice as long. This is a commonly requested feature that hoepfully we will add at some point. For now, there is a plugin that can do this but with limitations.
