Stability of accents
I have abandoned Sibelius (and Finale) to use MuseScore almost exclusively for I have found that Avid is more interested in making money than in making music. Be that as it may I have one major gripe: I would like accent marks to be above the staff and stay there. They are always jumping about and when I extract parts I have to hand-edit each and every accent to replace it where it should be. Is there no way to have this done automatically? Have I missed some basic command. I have Mark's book and do not find this issue addressed. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Welcome, Don! Go up to the Style menu, choose General…, click "Articulations, Ornaments" on the left, and you'll find the setting to place accents (sforzatos) always above the staff.
Thanks for the instruction; does that work retroactively?

In that it will recalculate the positions of accents you've already entered based off the new setting, yes; however, it only applies to the specific score you have open at the time.
