Fit onto 1 page ??

• Feb 16, 2016 - 18:32

I am moving 2-3 scores from online NoteFlight to MuseScore on my PC now that I am committed to using MuseScore (largely cause of this decent Forum). They move relatively well, but some text is "jumbled up" with staves at bottom of page. Somehow I had gotten it OK on NoteFlight.

What features/mechanism/settings should I use/look at/learn in order to gain approx. 2" at bottom of a page for arbitrary text (additional verses) so that it all fits onto one printed page.

THX in advance.

Things to look at for printing (i.e. fitting the score onto paper sheets):
1. The paper size are you using, the margin settings for your printer, and the scaling of the score:

2. Other parameters include system distance, staff distance, grand staff distance:

Since other score elements - such as lyrics - might also be present, posting the score would be the best way forward. This way, specific adjustments can be recommended to gain the 2" you need.

Regards.

Also worth looking at would be adding a text frame to the specific pages that need it, or using "Style / General Page / Music bottom margin" to increase the distance between the last system and the actual page margin throughout the score. Depending on what is going on in your specific score, any of these might do the trick. Once again, without seeing your specific score so we can understand exactly what is going on, the best we can do is guess at some possible things to try. With the actual score and a clear description of what you want, we'd be able to tell precisely step by exactly what to do.
