2nd voice stops at bar line when being entered via qwerty keyboard.

I'm writing a piece which requires at least two voices in the right had (piano). I am working on a part extracted from a score.

1. Write voice 1 line.
2. Leave note entry, select 1st impulse in bar, "n", and select voice 2.
3. Select duration and proceed to write voice 2.

Expected result - When getting to the 2nd bar, be able to continue.
Real result - cursor stops at 2nd bar line, forcing one to come out of entry mode, select the first note of the next bar and go through the whole thing again.

Please attach the specific score you are having problems with. In general, it should be possible to continue, but sometimes scores contain specific things that get in the way. For example, a "hole" in a voice - a place where you once entered a note or rest then deleted it. One fix for that situation is to select the measure with the hole, then exchange voices twice. Another fix is to select the note or reat before the hole and change its duration to cover the hole, then shorten it again.
