"...popular and actively developed..." Isn't this redundant, since the very next words are that we just reached a new milestone with the release of 2.0? And I feel that multi-platform are very good words to get in there at the beginning. Otherwise, it might be automatically assumed to be solely a Windows program.

When splitting an old Howto into one for 2.0 and one for 1.x, we'd need to keep the 1.x one and create the new one for 2.0, as that old howto might be referred to in the 1.x handbook and we can no longer change the 1.x handbook to point to a new Howto
