It looks better, but they're offset, or overlapping.

What's the point of this master pallete? Except that it's larger and contains the "Z" symbols chart, its a duplicate of the existing pallete. The existing pallete is already undockable and configurable. Doesn't this seem like a duplication of effort?

The master palette is read only. Without the master palette it is not possible to get back a symbol you deleted in the dockable palette.

The icons in the palette are created dynamically from some fonts. This takes into acount the display resolution which is different on all platforms. Some icons need to be moved to better fit into the palette. This is done by pixel values which looks ok on linux but probably not on other platforms with other resolution. So its a design problem. A possible solution may be to move the icons in point units (resolution independent). Maybe this is not valid for all icons in the palette.

Judging on the palette itself, I feel others, including (perhaps not limited to) 'Arpeggio & Glissando', 'Articulations & Ornaments', 'Accidentals', 'Fingering', 'Note Heads' and 'Tremolo' aren't perfect either - some things are off-centre/overlap.
