Musescore has stopped extracting parts from the score!
I have searched all over and can find no mention of this problem. I have extracted parts from dozens and dozens of scores, with little difficulty. On my latest arrangement, I extracted 3 of 9 parts routinely. I then tried another, only to get the notice that:
"mscore.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
From this point, I can do nothing but close the program and try again--about 15 times so far! It may be interesting that I was able on my 6th or 7th attempt to get another part extracted, but nothing since.
I am using Version 1.3, Revision 5702 on Windows 8.1OS
I click the :parts" tab under "file", click "new", type in the title, click the appropriate part box, then hit "create part". As I said, I have done exactly this for many other arrangements with 100% success in the past [Thanks for this fine program, developers, btw!]. Why it chooses to stop working is way beyond my pay grade. Any help will be greatly appreciated! I need this arrangement ASAP.

It would help if you posted the score you are having problems with - there isn't much we can do without that.
I know some versions of MsueScore have problems with scores that incorrectly have voltas on staves other than the top. I thought that had been fixed for 1.3, but maybe some other related problem, and fixing the score would allow parts to be generated.
You could also try loading into 2.-0 Beta 1 and seeing what happens.

How do I load my score to this forum? Obviously, I am not a tech-savvy guy. I read about the voltas --first and second endings--but they have never been a problem in the past.
Thanks!

Thank you, Mark! I just downloaded the beta 2.0 and it extracted the parts flawlessly! And, it did all of them at once instead of piecemeal as before. I have yet to explore all the new stuff, but I did notice that there seems to be no means to number every measure as I did before. This to me is a negative that can be addressed?

Scott

so far, so good. Now the biggest problems seem to be saving my files as pdf's. On 1.3, there was the save as option for all kind of things, including pdf. Now, I can't seem to find Is it there but I am overlooking it? thanks again!

I forgot problem number 2: the text option for copyright mark seems to be missing. At least it is no longer where it was, in amongst the text options under create [now add?]

Check and check! Thanks!
There are a lot of changes that make me scratch my head, but the improvements will likely outweigh them when I really learn this new system.

You're very welcome. I can confidently predict that if you liked 1.3, you're going to love 2.0. :-)

I don't do change very well: I learn something, become proficient, and don't generally care to go outside my comfort zone. Sometimes we are forced out!
I will work at this one.
Thanks all for the support--I literally could not have gotten this arrangement out on time if not for you folks. I really do appreciate you and this wonderful program.

Not only are the parts all exteacted at once, but there are two mote huge improvements. One, they are now automatically saved with your score; you no longer have to save them individually. Even better, they are now "linked" to the score, so changes to one affect the other.

I am impressed with the increase in my ability to deal with the nuts and bolts of my arranging. That is not the musical, creative part of it but it has to be done. If I can do it quicker and easier, I can get on to the next one!
Now, I just have to re-learn stuff! Thanks for a better version of a good product! And, I appreciate the willingness of people like yourself to explain stuff to a non-techie such as myself.
