Tempo change
I have a problem changing a tempo after assigning a certain tempo to the first measure of a score (selecting a note and then assigning a tempo). After I have done this, and want to change the tempo, whatever I try, it sticks with the first tempo assignment when checking it with ‘Playback’.
When I want to change (after deleting the first tempo indication) for instance ‘Largo’ into ‘Andante’ via 'select a note' - Create – Text – Tempo, and then select ‘Andante’ and playing it with ‘Playback’ to judge if this is the correct tempo, nothing has changed. It still is Largo.
Can somebody advice me please?
Joe.

The tempo slider in the Playback window speed or slows everything by a percentage. Make sure it is at 100 percent if you want to hear the actual tempo. Does that answer your question?

David,
Thanks for the reply. And indeed when I adjust the tempo slider, ‘Playback’ will
play the score accordingly. But what puzzles me is that when you assign a tempo to a note and then want to change it afterwards, it seems to me that MuseScore sticks to the
originally assigned tempo. I discovered that by deleting the ‘assigning note’ and then
adding it again, then assigning the new tempo, will solve the problem but I am not sure.

Right-click on a existing tempo text and choose "Tempo Properties...". From there you can change the tempo for that instance. Does this answer your question?
