accolade - MuseScore Dictionary
I had to look up this word a few times to find out that it is the French word for "Brace".
Should a dictionary of musical terms be considered, or, as an alternative, a button that takes one to an accredited Music Dictionary?

Accolade seems to be the correct english term for a "brace joining several staves"

Under Edit General/Page, in MS 1.x one element is listed as "akkolade", definitely the German word. In 2.0 the same element is "Grand staff" which seems more correct. Do you still see "accolade" or "akkolade" in 2.0?

"Akkolade" seems to be a german word derived from the french "accolade“.

This word comes from medieval French "Accoler" and Provençal "Accolada".
In music, it refers to the typeface, which brought together several.
I think accolade is a loanword from German?

Ditto. Same with Volta. But both do check out as legitimate English terms. It's just that in my experience, these technical are rarely used. Most people - and other programs - seem to use the colloquial terms "brace", "bracket", and "repeat ending".

At the very least, MS is forcing me (us?) to learn the proper musical terms. I didn't know about ossia, volta, accolade, ottava and about 80% of the ornaments and articulations.
