Better volta placement.
I find I am continually frustrated with the way voltas (volti?) are placed.
At this time, when I drag the volta to the proper bar, the line shows which barline the volta is attached to. Good.
When I attempt to place it at the beginning of the bar, it flips between bars until I just drop it. Then I have to select and maneuver it into the proper position.
This is how I think it should work:
1. When the bar is selected and the volta is dropped, it should automatically position itself over the bar line. If there is a reason to move it from there, then it can be shifted.
2. Another aspect that I find frustrating is the fact that the "1st ending" volta is a set size. I would like it to automatically extend to the repeat barline.

I believe there have been strides made in the placement of voltas for the 2.0 release.

I might have misunderstood the original post, but I don't see the problem with voltas. Drag the volta to the bar required, (prima or seconda), when the dotted positioning line is vertical at the start of the bar you want, drop it, then click on the volta to get the end markers up and shift +right arrow to extend the volta to the bar you want, which will also take it onto the next stave if necessary.
Have I missed something?

First, finding the vertical is chancy. Then I have to select, then move it to get it exactly right. Then double-click, then extend, etc. Why all the steps when the volta could be placed properly by the program and adjusted by the program?
These are exactly the kinds of things automation is useful for.

Definitely. Vertical alignment is hit and miss, and while you can be as precise as you want after the fact horizontally, it takes effort that should be unnecessary. Luckily, things are better in 2.0. Btw, occassionally I've said that I wish more elements were nudgeable via keyboard. Voltas are one example. You can nudge horizontally while in edit mode, but not vertically.
