Problem with repeats - both first and second ending play during playback
Hi,
I am trying to use repeats with a first and second ending for the first time. I have marked the "begin repeat" and "end repeat" measures, and noted the first and second ending with the lines. However, during playback, the piece plays the first AND second endings the second time through the repeated phrase.
Does anyone know the method for telling MuseScore to skip over the first ending during playback the second time through the piece?

I was able to solve this problem myself. I read through all forum topics regarding repeats, and found the solution. I deleted both voltas and added them back. This was the first time I had used repeats and somehow messed up the voltas. Now the playback works fine.

I also had this problem, and tried deleting and re-inserting the voltas. But it didn't make any difference in my case. What might I be doing wrong?

Hard to say without seeing the score. I take it you have playbck of repeats turned on?

I assume that the repeats must be turned on, as the playback repeats. But it plays both the first and second endings.
How would I go about including the score with my question? I'm a very new user, and I do appreciate everyone's attempts to help.

See the "File attachments" link below where you type your post. Click that and it expands to give you controls to attach files. be sure you actually hit the "Attach" button after choosing your file(s).

Do you have the front repeat? MuseScore needs this repeat at the beginning or it won't repeat.

Yes, I do have the front repeat on. The playback does repeat, but it plays both the first and second endings. Frustrating.

Can you attach your score?
Do your first and second endings span on more than two measures ? if yes, did you increase their size with Shift + right arrow ? See Volta

I was having this problem. I had moved the end of the line with the mouse instead of the shift-arrow keys while in edit mode. Does this work for other lines too?

Most lines do work that same way - shift-arrow to actually change the attachment point of a line (which affects its behavior), mouse to fine tune the position visually.
