Photo to script
I have a photo copy of a peace of music that I want to type out in MuseScore. I have heard it played from this copy in our church but when I attempt to lay it out in MuseScript at 4/4 and the 4flats the bares cant contain the notes.
Any ideas?
I have surcharged as to whom the author was but unable to find it out.

There is no problem with the score you posted so it must be something that you are doing. Perhaps post your attempt and we can point out what is wrong. As a guess, are you using the 16ths properly?
I'm sorry, but this looks like a fairly standard piece. Very occasionally a MuseScore score gets messed up, in which case post a copy here and people can see where the program - or you - may have gone wrong. Otherwise, all I can suggest is that you read the handbook and keep trying.

Also, I highly recommend the tutorial videos that you can access from the main page of this site. As thers have observed, this is a pretty somple iece; there should be no difficulties at all rendering it in MuseScore if you inderstand how to use the program. Perhaps the one non-obvviosi thing will be how to break the beams n the dotted-eighth sixteenth patterns; be sure to read the Handbook section Beam .
Read everything carefully and try to reproduce. The final result should look like the file attached. But don't use that one :) do it by yourself !

Thank you all for your help and advice, and lasconic for the example and list of things to study.
Is it possible for me to add a Base line to the already setup script? Or do I have to start from scratch?

I think it's better to start from scratch and use the instructions + your original + my mscz file

Thank you lasconic for your advice.
I have enjoyed and learn t a few things in working an this script.
I have 3 queries.
When I came to the Chorus (Cytgan, in Welsh) entering the notes in the first bar overflowed into the second, what have I done?
Other people seems to be able to keep the bars tidily into four bars across the page, how do you do that?
As you will see I will now need to file in the base, and I am no musician or composer but I am attempting to be something.
I have learn t how to add the lyrics and I will only put in one verse of this hymn in-between.
Yes, this is an old Welsh hymn that the Salvation Army had some 100 years ago!!

1/ You probably enter a note too big for the duration of the measure.
2/ You can select a barline and press Return on your keyboard to put a line break.

I don't think Iasoasconic this is the same peace, "Who's That Knocking At The Door". I have as far as I can see kept to all your guidelines. But something is wrong, just after your instruction to me on the 21st (section 8 as above )to deal with the remaining rest, just at the Chores section.
