How do I successfully download the font MuseJazz to musescore?

No download; it's built in. Go to the Style menu, choose General..., and change the "Musical text font." If you have chord symbols in your music, then also click "Chord Symbols, Fretboard Diagrams" in the sidebar on the left and change the "Appearance" to "Jazz." Then, if you want, close the window, choose Text... from the Style menu, and you can make various types of text be in MuseJazz.

I did exactly what you said, but the notes don't change.

in 2.0.x MuseJazz is just available as a text font. In the next major version there will be a musical font as well, it is currently under discussion whether this would make it into the upcoming 2.1 too, see https://musescore.org/en/developers-handbook/musescore-2.1-hit-list

FWIW, I would be perfectly happy to see it included in 2.1, if a 2.1 score that uses this font would simply fall back to Emmentaler or Bravura if loaded into 2.0.3 (and hence looks different). If it fails to load at all, that's a bigger problem. But I personally have no problems with 2.1 scores looking different when loaded into 2.0.x, if they are still substantially correct. Others may have more stringent expectations regarding compatibility.

Indeed. It's correct. If we add MuseJazz music font in 2.1, any score using it will crash MuseScore 2.0.X...

There was no option for MuseJazz in the musical notes appearance.

That's because, in MuseScore 2.0.3 (and earlier), MuseJazz can only be selected as a musical text font (which affects only text, not the notes). It is not available (yet) as a musical symbols font, which *would* affect the note heads/stems etc. themselves - this is what folks were discussing above in respect of (possibly) MuseScore 2.1 and beyond.
If you've already selected MuseScore to be the text font in your score (i.e. for any text in the score, including titles, subtitles etc.), you can change your text so that it appears in the new font by highlighting it and then hitting the "reset to style" button in the inspector (or by simply closing and re-opening the score).
