SoundFont for classical guitar
Does anybody know where I can download and use in musescore a good
soundfont for classical guitar? The one MuseScore is using is ‘just acceptable’.
I also downloaded and tried FluidR3 but their guitar sounds also ‘just acceptable’.
With ‘classical guitar’ I mean a nylon stringed acoustical guitar.

You could try Hammersound. The protrax yahama one sounds good to me.

Thanks lasconic. I downloaded the tar file, decompressed it (ProTrax_Classical_Guitar.sf2) and after putting it to the correct folder (via Display-Synthesyzer....) I cannot hear any sound when clicking on 'Play'.
Am I forgetting something?

Well the best sound you can have is by renting a guitar and a guitarist and let him play your scores.
If you find a good soundfont let us know.

I am a classical guitarist and composer for many years. I made this sf from many sources thru the years. Is not the real thing but I hope you like compared to other sf. As Vsti, AGL2 is very good but still not there. Greetings from Guadalajara, Mex

no usable sf2 here but it's a pity that this technology didn't make it into any guitar Notation software:

Thank you. Treble strings sound ok, but the bass strings still have some issues. but thank you very much nonetheless.
Do you have any insights on how to generate a soundfont for musescore? Perhaps a tutorial that 's effective for a beginner like myself?

Polyphone is very easy to use, look in youtube. I updated my sf but is 400 mb now, I wiil upload tomorrow

Im using cubase 5 with samplelord and other VSTi for this type of sequencing not musescore, but soundfont can be use in any compatible host with soundfonts like musescore or VirtualMidiSynth but this one is bigger than my 2015 SF. I hope you enjoy. Thanks.

That last update, 2017 SF sounds great !!!!
I just installed it and played some scores to judge the Guitar sound.
It is the best soundfont for classical Guitar I have heard so far.

I tried it out on lmms and I wanted to now try it in musescore. I've managed to put it in the synthesizer, but when I click change staff property and try to change the instrument from there, it doesn't show up. Any tips?
